Mr. Martin Manna, President of the Chaldean Community Foundation, Hungarian Representative Mr. Azbej Tristan, and Mr. Sylvester Sandiha, Chairman of the Board celebrate the honoring of the Hungary Helps Project.
The Chaldean Community Foundation (CCF) has reached a new milestone in its mission to advance the Chaldean community’s cultural, educational, and economic future. Earlier this year, in May 2025, the Foundation—under the leadership of President Martin Manna—opened a new center dedicated to promoting Chaldean culture, language, and literature. Alongside it, a new headquarters for the Chaldean American Chamber of Commerce was also inaugurated, strengthening the partnership between the two institutions in advancing the financial, cultural, and political empowerment of the community.
The Foundation’s progress was celebrated at the 7th Annual Awards Gala 2025, which paid tribute to the Government of Hungary for its steadfast support of Iraq’s Christian (Chaldean Syriac Assyrians) community. In his remarks, Mr. Manna commended Hungary as “an incredible supporter of Iraq’s vulnerable Christian community,” emphasizing that “this small nation of 10 million has done so much.”
Through its Hungary Helps Program (HHP), launched in 2017, the Hungarian government has provided millions of dollars in aid to rebuild churches and revitalize Christian life in Iraq’s Nineveh Plains, with a special focus on the village of Tell Skopeh, envisioned as a model of renewal and hope.
Accepting the honor on behalf of his government, the Hungarian representative, Mr. Azbej Tristan, reaffirmed Hungary’s commitment, stating, “We stand with the Chaldean community!”
The gala, which brought together prominent community, civic, and political leaders, raised more than $600,000, marking another record-setting moment for the Chaldean Community Foundation and its partners.
